Bengaluru, August 24: Former Indian skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni on Thursday (August 24) equalled former Sri Lankan captain Kumar Sangakkara's record of highest number of stumpings in one-day internationals - 99.
Sangakkara had 99 stumpings from 404 matches and the Jharkhand man has the same number of stumpings from 298 matches.
Dhoni achieved the mark after stumping Dhanushka Gunathilaka off leg-spinner Yuzvendra Chahal for 19 in the second one-dayer against Sri Lanka at Pallekele on Thursday (August 24).
Former Sri Lankan wicketkeeper Romesh Kaluvitharana has 75 stumpings from 189 matches.
Former Moin Khan stumper 73 stumpings from 219 matches is in the fourth place and in the fifth place is former Australian stumper Adam Gilchrist with 55 stumpings from 287 matches.
