Dhoni gives his 100 per cent at any level of cricket: Kapil Dev

Jaipur, Sep 18 (UNI) Lavishing praise on Mahendra Singh Dhoni for complete dedication towards his game, Indian Cricket League (ICL) chairman Kapil Dev today said the ODI skipper is a brilliant player who should be given respect at all levels.

The former Indian captain, who was in town to take part in the Entrepreneurs Organisation programme here, said Dhoni was not wrong when he took the decision to withdraw from the Test series against Sri Lanka to take rest after playing too much of cricket.

''He always gives his 100 per cent at any level of cricket and we should not force him to play,'' Kapil said.

Replying to a question about Sri Lankan unorthodox spinner Ajantha Mendis, he said Mendis was a dangerous bowler damaging the senior batsmen of the Team India in the Test series but the Indian side managed to win the One-day series.

He said the matter of racism and sledging was over. Now there is no matter of such things in the upcoming series.

Wisden Cricketer of the century, Kapil, said former Indian captain Sourav Ganguly will come back in the team after performing in the domestic season but ''I cannot say why selectors did not select him in the team.'' MORE UNI MY PY PM1810
