Mirpur (Bangladesh), June 25: India batsman Suresh Raina has once again come out in support of his captain MS Dhoni calling him a "good honest man" and stating that one series loss can't make him "bad".
After India's series loss to Bangladesh, Dhoni had come under heavy attack. However, some of his team-mates have stood behind the wicketkeeper-batsman. (Best quotes on Dhoni)
R Ashwin had declared that he was ready "to die on the field" if the skipper asked him to. And Raina had tweeted his "respect" to him.
Now, addressing the media after their 77-run victory over Bangladesh last night (June 24) in the 3rd and final ODI, Raina batted for Dhoni again.
"You can't disrespect him (Dhoni) and what he has achieved," the left-handed Raina said at the Sher-e-Bangla Stadium on Wednesday.
"He has won so many trophies for BCCI. At the same time he's a good human being, good honest man. One series can't make him bad. He's a good leader. Everyone loves him in the dressing room. There's still a lot of cricket left for him. So just wait for some time," Raina, who won the Man-of-the-match award, added.
Dhoni hit 69 runs while Raina scored 38 and took 3 wickets to hand India a consolation win. India scored 317/6 and bowled Bangladesh out for 240.
