Dhoni keeps everyone guessing on inclusion for Lankan tour

By Staff

Mumbai, Jul 7 (UNI) The Indian ODI captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni today kept everyone guessing over whether he was pulling out of the Sri Lankan series, saying ''you all will come to know about it by tomorrow.'' The national selection committee will meet tomorrow to pick the Test squad for the Sri Lankan tour here.

Dhoni was speaking to mediapersons at a function, where he was announced as the first celebrity signing of Mindscapes Maestros, a event and sports management company.

Answering queries, Dhoni said he was physically fit.

When asked whether he had asked the cricket board not to consider him for the Lankan tour, Dhoni said ''you'll will come to know in a day or two.

He said ''a professional cricketer in the sub-continent has to play throughout the year as the weather here permits it, unlike in countries like England, where you cannot play during the winters.'' The Indian ODI captain also lauded the cricket board for being open and allowing players to notify them, if they needed a break from the hectic schedule.

On the recent loss to Sri Lanka in the Asia Cup, Dhoni said ''winning and losing is part of the game and as long as you give 100 per cent on the field then it is okay.'' He said ''India, despite two losses in finals, has won more matches than anyone in the past year and with a young side that is a good sign for the future.'' Meanwhile, BCCI secretary Niranjan Shah today after return from Pakistan said it (cricket board) has not received any intimation from Dhoni to exclude him from squad for Sri Lanka.

''He was in the same flight with me from Karachi, but he did not say anything at all,'' Shah added.
