It showcases his switch to a wicketkeeper from a goalkeeper at the instance of his school coach Keshav Banerjee, his travails as a ticket collector, shuttling between platforms at the Kharagpur Railway Station.
Banerjee's role in shaping Dhoni's career is well known and as the 36-year-old reached the 300 ODI milestone at the R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo, his longevity continues to thrill.
But in a recent interview Banerjee was candid while admitting that his ward's timing has always been the best.
"As much as I know Dhoni, if he feels that it's time to hang his boots, he will retire without saying a word. I am a friend of Mahi since the childhood days, when nobody knew him. As far as I know him he will take his final call on retirement at the right time".
Watching the 190-minute entertainer is as thrilling as seeing some of his 'helicopter' sixes and no better day to relive those reels again than on the Ranchi man's milestone day.
