Bangalore, Aug 13 : Team India captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni said his team aims to give its best shot in the forthcoming one-day series against Sri Lanka, beginning August 18.
Interacting with the media after a practice session in the IT city, the ODIs captain said that the players would perform to the best of their potential.
"It's a completely different side, you lose a few games, and you win some. But after all you want to go out there, you want to do and it's not as if your players are not putting in the effort, so we look to go out there and do our best -- what we can and we will try to give our best shot and we will try to perform according to our potential," said Dhoni.
The team would focus on spin and fast bowling in the upcoming five ODIs against Sri Lanka, he added.
After losing the test series, India is now slated to play Sri Lanka ODI series in Dambulla in the island nation, for which the visiting team would leave today.
