Dhoni too took to Twitter to hail Sehwag's achievements. "Didn't see Viv Richards bat in person but I can proudly say I have witnessed Virender Sehwag tearing apart the best bowling attacks," Dhoni wrote on his Twitter page.
"Talent in batting is one thing but to have the mindset of Virupa (Sehwag) in batting is as close to impossible as it can get.
"We keep saying be positive and look for a single but he was one person who was always looking for boundary. Many will try to play like you but my advice would be to enjoy your batting and be themselves. Congrats on a fantastic career," he added.
Sehwag retired after playing 104 Tests, 251 ODIs and 19 T20Is between 1999 and 2013. He scored more than 17,000 international runs.
