Dinesh Karthik brutally trolls Bangla Tigers as snake stops play in LPL 2023: 'I thought it was in Bangladesh'

Dinesh Karthik brutally trolled the Bangladesh cricket team after a snake entered the playing and halted the Lanka Premier League (LPL) 2023 match between Galle Titans and Dambulla Aura for a brief moment at the R Premadasa Stadium on Monday.

The incident happened ahead of the 5th over during Dambulla's 180 run-chase against Galle. A massive snake created panic as Bangladesh star Shakib Al Hasan geared to bowl. The fourth umpire arrived at the ground and tried getting rid of the venomous snake slithering on the green grass.

Shakib was also seen explaining to a confused Kusal Perera, who was batting alongside Dhananjaya de Silva, about the bizarre reason behind the haltage in the play. "What a sight! Never seen anything like this. I don't know from which part it's going to exit the field. It's a massive one!" one of the commentators was heard saying.

Dinesh Karthik, who completed his Ashes 2023 commentary stint on Monday, also took note of the incident and wasted no time in taking a dig at the Bangladesh cricket team.

"The naagin is back. I thought it was in Bangladesh #naagindance #nidahastrophy," he tweeted.

Those unaware, Bangladesh cricketers in the past have made 'naagin dance (snake dance)' celebration their very own. However, the same has also come to haunt them as their oppositions have copied their celebration and used it against them after beating them.

Karthik has a fond memory with the Bangladesh cricket team when they had started the 'snake dance' trend. With five runs needed from one ball in the Nidahas Trophy final in 2018, the veteran wicketkeeper-batter had smashed a six off Soumya Sarkar to hand India an iconic win.
