Dinesh Karthik praises 'Jawan' as witty Shah Rukh Khan asks former KKR captain to play the role of finisher

Dinesh Karthik gave a long review of 'Jawan', impressing the main lead Shah Rukh Khan, who asked his former Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) captain, to watch the movie again and play the role of 'finisher' to perfection.

The India wicketkeeper-batter took to X (formerly Twitter) on Saturday and gave a detailed review of the movie and heaped praises on Shah Rukh Khan and director Atlee. He also gave fans details on how Atlee started his collaboration with 'King Khan' in 2018 and also came to watch a KKR vs Chennai Super Kings (CSK) match in Chennai.

"SCALE and GRANDEUR. I'm sure it will become the Highest grossing INDIAN movie ever! What an amazing effort by @Atlee_dir to bring @iamsrk in so many avatars, my fav being Vikram Rathore, style and charisma like noone else ever has seen from SRK!" Dinesh Karthik wrote

"I remember when in 2018 I started with KKR and that's when Atlee had started talks with SRK and infact he came for CSK vs KKR match at Chennai

"It's taken 5 long years, so many discussions, so many small script tweaks and so much has happened in this time and to put everything in perspective and bring it out so well in a proper commercial manner and to make every frame so much fun, filled with style and oomph was worth the wait!

'Didn’t get to see this side of u during KKR times'

The detailed review took Shah Rukh Khan, the co-owner of KKR, by surprise. Calling Dinesh Karthik a 'film buff', the Bollywood superstar said he did not get to see this side of the cricketer during his time with IPL franchise.

"Wow DK you are quite the film buff!! Didn’t get to see this side of u during KKR times. Really happy u enjoyed the film and give my love to Dipika!!! And if u are free go watch it again after a few weeks…. Always need u as a finisher!!" Shah Rukh Khan replied.

The movie which also stars Nayanthara and Vijay Sethupathi in the lead roles, has earned over Rs 200 crore in India in just three days. This is Shah Rukh Khan's second consecutive mega hit after returning to the silverscreen after a gap of almost five years. Earlier this year, his movie Pathaan earner over Rs 1000 crore worldwide.
