India's World Cup 2023 upsurge has been spearheaded by some excellent performances in all departments. Both batters and bowlers have so far done extremely well in the tournament.
Virat Kohli is currently leading the run-scoring chart with 711 runs, while pacer Mohammed Shami has picked up the most wickets with 23 so far in this tournament. But former India wicketkeeper Dinesh Karthik hasn't chosen any of the two players as India's most valuable player of the tournament.

Karthik instead has opted for Rohit Sharma as India's MVP for the World Cup, stating Rohit's pivotal role thus far in all the matches. Rohit Sharma has scored 550 runs so far in 10 matches, thus becoming the only player in history to score 500+ runs in consecutive World Cups.
And speaking of Rohit, Dinesh Karthik told Cricbuzz how the Indian captain has lifted the team with both his batting and captaincy.
"The MVP for me is Rohit Sharma. He has given great starts. He has just shown the template as to how it needs to be done. As a skipper, he has been brilliant as well," said Karthik.

Karthik then went on to praise KL Rahul's role behind the stumps. Rahul has been a vital cog in the side and his decisions with DRS with his overall gloveswork have been a revelation for India. And the commentator believes Rahul can play a crucial role in the final.
"His wicketkeeping has been outstanding. You have to say it has been one of the best in the tournament. I said Scott Edwards before purely for keeping skills but as an all-round package, KL Rahul has gone ahead of Quinton de Kock. He has played all types of knocks. I believe he can play a very, very crucial role in the final," Karthik added.
India take on Australia in the Final of World Cup 2023 on Sunday (November 19) at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
