Virat Kohli's dip in form in red-ball cricket has been a significant talking point among Indian cricket fans, particularly after his underwhelming performance in the Border-Gavaskar series in Australia.
The former Indian skipper managed just 190 runs in nine innings, often falling prey to deliveries outside the off-stump, caught behind or in the slips on eight occasions.

However, former India cricketer Mohammad Kaif has voiced his unwavering support for Kohli, backing him to bounce back in style during the upcoming Champions Trophy 2025.
Kaif, in a recent discussion on his YouTube channel, urged fans not to judge Kohli solely on his Test performances, highlighting the batting maestro's exceptional record in white-ball cricket.
"Virat Kohli never accepts defeat and always makes a comeback. Don't write him off in white-ball cricket; the picture is far from over because he has 50 ODI tons to his name and nearly 13,000 runs in ODIs. So, forget what happened in Tests," Kaif said.
Indeed, Kohli's legacy in limited-overs cricket is unparalleled. His ability to pace an innings, switch gears effortlessly, and dominate attacks makes him one of the finest to have ever graced the game. Kaif believes this tenacity will once again come to the fore in the Champions Trophy, where Kohli has the opportunity to regain his rhythm.
Kaif also reminded fans of Kohli's fondness for playing in Dubai, which has been a productive venue for him in the past. He cited Kohli's unforgettable maiden T20I century against Afghanistan in the Asia Cup 2022, where the Indian stalwart smashed an unbeaten 122 off just 61 balls.
"He plays differently in white-ball cricket. The last time Virat Kohli played in Dubai, he was unstoppable, scoring a phenomenal century against Afghanistan. His form was excellent, and he loves playing in the City of Gold. I expect him to continue this love affair in the Champions Trophy," the former India player added.
India is scheduled to play all its matches in Dubai during the tournament, a factor Kaif believes will work in Kohli's favor.
While concerns about Kohli's Test form remain valid, his past comebacks underline his resilience and ability to silence critics. With the Champions Trophy offering a platform to shine, the onus will be on Kohli to rediscover his touch.
