By MyKhel Staff

Virender Sehwag's son Aaryavir Sehwag got a fantastic deal in the Delhi Premier League 2025 auction on Sunday (July 6).

Aaryavir, who has made a name for himself, was a hot pick among the franchises. Placed in the Category B, Aaryavir induced a bidding war for himself.

DPL 2025 Auction Virender Sehwag s Son Aaryavir fetches Rs 8 Lakh Deal

The likes of West Delhi Lions, South Delhi Superstarz were in the race for him, but it was the Central Delhi Kings, who acquired the youngster. The Kings managed to sign Sehwag for a whopping Rs 8 lakh, a 167 per cent rise from his base price of Rs 3 lakh.

Aaryavir Sehwag - A Top-Notch Player

Aaryavir Sehwag delivered an outstanding knock in the 2024-25 Cooch Behar Trophy for Delhi U‑19. On November 21, he smashed an unbeaten 200 off 229 balls, featuring 34 fours and two sixes, forging a 180‑run opening stand that propelled Delhi to 468/2. The very next day, he nearly reached a triple century, scoring a colossal 297 from 309 balls-powered by 51 boundaries and three sixes, before falling just three runs short. His father, Virender Sehwag, humorously remarked that he had "missed a Ferrari by 23 runs," applauding his son's brilliance, composure, and fearless strokeplay.

The Delhi Premier League (DPL) 2025 Auction saw competitive bidding as franchises targeted key domestic talents to bolster their squads.

Central Delhi Kings secured pacer Simarjeet Singh for Rs 39 lakh, the highest bid of the auction. His experience and death-over skills make him a crucial asset. South Delhi Superstarz followed closely by signing all-rounder Digvesh Rathi for Rs 38 lakh, banking on his match-winning versatility. West Delhi Lions landed seasoned campaigner Nitish Rana for Rs 34 lakh, a proven performer with leadership credentials. Young all-rounder Prince Yadav went to New Delhi Tigers for Rs 33 lakh, reflecting his rising stock in domestic cricket.

Meanwhile, East Delhi Riders invested Rs 26 lakh in elegant top-order batter Mayank Rawat, aiming to strengthen their batting unit. These acquisitions underline the franchises' strategic focus on blending experience with emerging talent, setting the stage for a high-quality and fiercely contested DPL 2025 season.
