DPL 2026: Tejasvi Dahiya's Blistering Knock Powers South Delhi Superstarz Past New Delhi Tigers

New Delhi, August 15: Tejasvi Dahiya produced a stunning late-innings assault as South Delhi Superstarz chased down 218 to defeat New Delhi Tigers by six wickets in Match 27 of the Delhi Premier League (DPL) 2026 at the Arun Jaitley Stadium.

After winning the toss and opting to bowl, South Delhi Superstarz were set a daunting target after the Tigers posted 217/7 in their 20 overs. Vaibhav Rawal anchored the Tigers' innings with a composed 44 off 30 balls, while Atulya Pandey contributed 23 off 17. The pair added 62 runs for the third wicket after the Tigers suffered an early setback with Dev Chaudhary dismissed for a duck.

Captain Himmat Singh then injected momentum into the innings, smashing 38 off just 19 balls, including three fours and three sixes. Manish Sehrawat followed with a blistering 42 off 20 deliveries, hitting three fours and four sixes, while Lakshay Thareja's unbeaten 30 off 16 helped New Delhi Tigers cross the 210-run mark.

Divansh Rawal was South Delhi Superstarz's leading wicket-taker with 2/53, while Ankit Dabas impressed with an economical spell of 1/25 from his four overs.

In reply, South Delhi Superstarz began aggressively, racing to 56 runs in the powerplay. Anmol Sharma struck 18 off eight balls, while Sanat Sangwan added 28 off 18 to provide a rapid start.

Captain Ayush Badoni then scored 35 off 25, with Pranav Pant contributing 32 off 27. Their 56-run partnership kept the chase on track before both batters fell in quick succession.

With 76 runs still required from the final 30 balls, Dahiya took charge. The wicketkeeper-batter unleashed a spectacular counterattack, finishing unbeaten on 60 from only 29 balls, with six fours and four sixes.

Pranshu Vijayran provided the perfect support, smashing an unbeaten 26 off 13 balls. The pair added an unbroken 76-run partnership from just 28 deliveries to turn the contest decisively in South Delhi Superstarz's favour.

South Delhi Superstarz reached 218/4 in 19.4 overs, completing a remarkable six-wicket victory with two balls to spare. Dahiya's explosive finish proved to be the defining moment of a thrilling run chase.
