Ducks galore: Cricket team bowled out for 0 in England

London, Feb 12: Cricket is a game of glorious uncertainties. And earlier this week, a team was bowled out for zero, yes you heard it right, with the opposition winning by a 120-run margin in England.

Canterbury Christ Church University (CCCU) bundled out Bapchild Cricket Club for 0 in 20 balls in a six-a-side indoor championship game on February 7 (Sunday).

According to CCCU's official Twitter handle, a bowler took a hat-trick on way to routing the rival team for no score. "No you haven't read that wrong. We have just bowled Bapchild out for 0. Fraser (McWhinnie) and Phil with 0-3 each. CCCU win by 120 runs," the team wrote on its Twitter page.

CCCU's spinner Mike Rose said they could not believe what they had achieved. "We all couldn't really believe it to be honest, bowling a team out for 0, especially indoors as all they needed to do was hit a wall to get one run. I think I was the only fielder to touch the ball off the bat!," he told the "Crawley Observer".

Batting first, CCCU posted 120 runs for the loss of one wicket. In reply, Bapchild's all 6 batsmen failed to score as Fraser McWhinniee took a hat-trick.

According to CCCU's website, the team plays both indoor and outdoor cricket. "CCCU Men's cricket team play throughout the year. The indoor season runs through Christmas and Easter terms, where we have teams competing in Division 1 & 2 of the Kent indoor league, in addition to this we field a team in the national BUCS competition.

"We play our outdoor cricket in the summer term where two teams compete in BUCS. Every year we take part in Varsity. This is a huge event for cricket as we play in four Varsity matches. We have two teams playing in both indoor and outdoor Varsity. The first team outdoor Varsity game for the past three years has been held at the St. Lawrence ground, home of Kent CCC," CCCU said.
