Duleep Trophy 2024 Captains: Who will lead the Star-Studded Team A, Team B, Team C and Team D?

Duleep Trophy 2024 Captains: As expected star-studded squads were picked for the first round matches of Duleep Trophy 2024 by the BCCI on Wednesday, August 14. Dozens of Team India regulars found their names in the four-team long-format tournament which will kick start from September 5 in Anantapur, Andhra Pradesh.

15 players each have been named in the fours teams - Team A, Team B, Team C and Team D. Interesting choices for the captaincy roles have also been made.

Team A will be captained by India opener Shubman Gill, who will lead a team which includes senior Karnataka batters Mayank Agarwal and KL Rahul. Senior spinner Kuldeep Yadav is also part of the Team A squad for Duleep Trophy 2024.

Team C will be led by Maharashtra and India opener Ruturaj Gaikwad. India T20I captain Suryakumar Yadav is part of this squad which includes youngsters Sai Sudharsan, Abishek Porel, and Umran Malik among others.

Team D will be led by star batter Shreyas Iyer. Some of the key players in his team are Ishan Kishan, Axar Patel, Devdutt Padikkal, KS Bharat and Arshdeep Singh.

Abhimanyu Easwaran has been named the captain of Team B. The 27-year-old Bengal opener is the only uncapped captain in the Duleep Trophy 2024. Easwaran, who has played 94 first-class matches and scored 7006 runs, will lead a team consisting of Rishabh Pant, Mohammed Siraj, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Sarfaraz Khan, Washington Sundar and Mukesh Kumar.

Duleep Trophy 2024 Captains List

Shubman Gill: The 24-year-old is the captain of Team A. The Punjab batter has played 25 Tests and 52 first-class matches till date.

Abhimanyu Easwaran: The 27-year-old is the captain of Team B. He has played 94 first-class matches but is yet to make his India debut.

Ruturaj Gaikwad: The 27-year-old is the captain of Team C. He has made his India debut in the ODI and T20I formats, but hasn't played a Test match till date. He has played 29 first-class games and scored 2041 runs at an average of 43.42.

Shreyas Iyer: The 29-year-old is the captain of Team D. He has played 14 Test matches for India, and 72 first-class games overall.
