Eid Mubarak: From Mohammed Shami to Harbhajan Singh - Cricketers Extend Wishes For Eid Al Adha

Eid Mubarak - Happy Bakird: Several cricketers former and current, including pacer Mohammed Shami and former spinner Harbhajan Singh extended their wishes on their social media accounts on the occasion of Eid Al Adha on Thursday (June 29).

Eid Al Adha is celebrated across the world in 2023 from the evening of Wednesday (June 28) and Thursday (June 29). It is a feast of sacrifice and is the largest of the two main holidays celebrated in Islam.

While Harbhajan took to Twitter to wish the ones celebrating, Shami posted his wishes on Instagram, where he posted a picture of himself celebrating the festival with his brother.

"Heartiest Greetings on the auspicious occasion of #EidAlAdha. It underlines the virtues of sacrifice, brotherhood and devotion and it motivates and inspires us to nurture the attitude of caring and sharing to make our society better and more beautiful. #EidMubarak to everyone," Harbhajan tweeted.

Shami posted on Instagram: "Do not be selfish in prayer by praying for yourself. Pray for others too and stand a better chance of having your prayers answered.

"May Allah bless you with good health, wealth, and happiness. Let's celebrate the festival of Eid Ul Adha with love, compassion, and unity. Happy Eid ul adha!"

Meanwhile, Irfan Pathan also took to Instagram to wish everyone for the feast. Irfan posted a picture of himself with the caption saying, "Some Eid are different... Eid Mubarak to you all. Have a great one #eid"

Apart from the trio many other Indian cricketers posted their wishes on the ocassion of Bakrid on their social media accounts. Former opener Wasim Jaffer tweeted: "Eid Mubarak May this Eid bring lots of good health, happiness, and prosperity in our lives. #EidMubarak"

Former India and Chennai Super Kings star Suresh Raina also took to twitter to extend his wishes. Raina posted: "Wishing everyone a joyous and blessed Eid! May this special day bring you peace, happiness, and prosperity. Sending warm wishes to all celebrating around the world. #EidMubarak!"
