BRSABV Ekana Cricket Stadium Stats and Records: The Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow, currently named after former Prime Minister Shri Atal Bihari Vajapayee, hosred it's first-ever World Cup match when Australia met South Africa in ICC World Cup 2023 on October 12.
Apart from Australia vs South Africa, the Ekana Stadium is scheduled to host some top matches, featuring India, Sri Lanka, England, Netherlands and Afghanistan, who will be one team that will be excited bowl on the wickets in Lucknow if they are anything similar to what we saw in IPL 2023.

Lucknow's cricket stadium, built in 2017, has not hosted a huge number of international matches before but the conditions are primed for the ICC Men's Cricket World Cup 2023.
The square has had extensive renovation since the Lucknow Super Giants claimed the stadium as their home venue. The venue witnessed some of the low-scoring thrillers during IPL and fans will hope it's not the same at the World Cup.
While the BRSABV Ekana Cricket Stadium hosts World Cup matches for the first time, the venue has staged 11 international matches and a few IPL matches so far. A total of 4 ODI matches have been held so far at the venue with a fifth match falling to COVID pandemic in 2020.
In the most recent ODI before the World Cup, South Africa defended a total of 249 against India by 9 runs, which shows how the slow nature of wickets could benefit the teams batting first as run-scoring gets tougher as the game progresses.
In ICC World Cup 2023, South Africa registered a thumping win over Australia in the first World Cup match at the venue, where Australia soon responded with a victory over Sri Lanka, who also bounced back with a victory over Netherlands.
In the final two matches, India defeated England in a low-scoring match, while Afghanistan beat Netherlands. Here is a look at the venue information and the fixtures lined up in the tournament as well as the ODI statistics and record of the BRSABV Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow:
