Ekana Stadium in Lucknow is set to host it's second match in the ongoing ICC World Cup 2023 when former champions clash as Australia take on Sri Lanka in match 14 on Monday (October 16).
Both Australia and Sri Lanka head into the match on the back of a win-less start, having lost both their matches in the show-piece tournament in India. Australia lost to India and South Africa, whereas, Sri Lanka suffered defeats to South Africa and Pakistan.

While Pat Cummins' Australia suffered a 134-run loss to South Africa in Lucknow, Sri Lanka, who will see Kusal Mendis led the side, are fresh from their failure to defend a total of 344 against Pakistan in Hyderabad.
Both teams played their matches on different surfaces. The venue in Hyderabad was a batter's paradise, while the one used in Lucknow, where the scores have been on the lower side in the recent years, saw the team batting first start well, but became challenging as the game progressed.
None of the matches have been affected by rain so far, including the opener in Lucknow. But how will the wicket play in Ekana Stadium? And with some parts of India witnessing rain over the last few days, will rain play spoilsport?
Here is a look at the Australia vs Sri Lanka Live Streaming, Lucknow Weather Forecast and BRSABV Ekana Stadium Pitch Report details for the AUS vs SL ICC World Cup 2023 Match 14:
AccuWeather predicts a hazy sunshine, but not so hot day with maximum temperature of 33° C, reducing to 26° C in the closing stages of the day-night match. There is no threat of rain on October 16 and in the lead up to the match. So, rain will not interrupt the game.
Dew has been a factor in the later stages of the match at this venue, which had been known for producing some low-scoring games in the limited matches hosted here till the first match saw a team cross 300-run mark. So, how will the wicket play?
The wickets at the Ekana Stadium had produced many low-scoring games, favouring the spin or slower bowlers. However, the wickets being used for the World Cup are fresh and prepared using black soil, which showed some sort of life at least in the first innings of AUS vs SA match.
Overall, the average score batting first in the five ODIs at this venue bumped to 208 from 188. Also, the team batting first has won three matches in ODI format in Lucknow, and the first match also proves that the wicket still remains a challenge for the team batting second.
Earlier, the Ekana Stadium pitch used to favour the spinners or slower bowlers, but in the first outing during the ICC World Cup 2023, the Protea pacers also found some joy, picking six of the ten Australian wickets. So, that pattern of setting a total may continue even in the AUS vs SL match.
