Election Results: 'Abusing Sanatana Dharma was bound to have consequences' - Venkatesh Prasad hails PM Modi, BJP

Election Results: Venkatesh Prasad has hailed BJP's landslide win in Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh in Assembly elections on Sunday, December 3. The BJP won around 170 out of 230 seats in Madhya Pradesh, 57 out of 90 seats in Chhattisgarh, and 117 out of 199 seats in Rajasthan.

BJP's thumping win comes in lead to the 2024 General elections. Prime Minister Narendra Modi is once again being hailed for the big win. Media houses and several political analysts believe that the face and leadership of PM Modi has again worked wonders for the BJP.

Former India pacer Venkatesh Prasad also hailed PM Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah for the triumphant win in the three states. He also took a dig at Congress, saying that abusing and disrespecting Sanatana Dharma was bound to have its consequences.

"Abusing Sanatana Dharma was bound to have it’s consequences. Many congratulations to the BJP for a landslide victory. Just another testimony of the amazing leadership of Prime Minister @narendramodi ji & @AmitShah & great work by the party cadre at grassroot levels #ElectionResults," Venkatesh Prasad wrote on X.

Notably, the son of Tamil Nadu CM MK Stalin, Udhayanidhi in September said that Sanatan Dharma is against social justice and should hence be eradicated,

“What is the meaning of Sanatan? It is eternal, that is, it cannot be changed; no one could pose any question and that is the meaning,” he had said.

“I am ready to present extensive writings of Periyar and Ambedkar, who conducted in-depth research on Sanatan Dharma and its negative impact on society," Udhayanidhi Stalin had later posted on X.

The congress appeared divided over the comment and mostly chose to remain silent. The BJP jumped on DMK leader Udhayanidhi Stalin's comment to target the INDIA opposition bloc - of which Stalin's DMK is a member.
