Mohammad Haris, who was Pakistan A team's captain at the Emerging Asia Cup 2023, has hit back at Indian slams for trolling and criticising his team for playing the tournament with senior Pakistan international players.
India A and Pakistan A locked horns in the junior continental event which saw Bangladesh also field a few senior players including Soumya Sarkar. However, the Indian team led by Yash Dhull did not have a single player with experience of playing for the senior team.

Though India defeated Pakistan by eight wickets in the group stage but lost the plot in the final after a cracking hundred from 30-year-old Tayyab Tahir who has played three T20I matches for Pakistan till date. Mohammad Wasim, Saim Ayub and 27-year-old Sahibzada Farhan were also among players playing in the match with experience of playing for the senior Pakistan men's cricket team.
However, Haris, who has played 5 ODIs and 9 T20I matches for Pakistan, has hit back by saying that India players had massive experience of playing in a high-profile league as the IPL. He also bluntly said that Pakistan did not suggest India include "kids" in their squad.
"Jis tarah log keh rahe hain wo bade leke aye they, hum chote bacche they, to hamne to nahi kaha tha ke aap chote bacche leke aao. Ye kehte hai ki aapka international experience tha. International experience kitna hai. Saim ke 5 matche hai, mere 6 match hai. Saare T20 hai. Inke team pe IPL ke 260 matches ka experience hai. (People are saying that Pakistan sent a team with many seniors. We did not ask them to send little kids to the tournament. They say that we had international experience in our team. How much international matches have we played but? Saim has played 5, I have played 6. Those guys (India players) have played 260 IPL matches)," Haris said in a video that has emerged on social media.
No India player featuring in the Emerging Asia Cup 2023 was having an age more than 22. Yash Dhull finished the tournament as the second-highest wicket-taker, while Nishant Sindhu was the leading wicket-taker. No player from Pakistan featured in the top-three list of either of the departments.
