Endorsements are cricket-centric: Ganguly
Kolkata, Feb 24 (UNI) Even as Sourav Ganguly's comeback completed a full circle with a lucrative year-long contract with Puma, the man himself let his wisdom speak stating ''everything was cricket-centric and so I need the runs to flow.'' Sourav Ganguly will represent the Germany-based sports lifestyle brand Puma and its country arm Puma Sports India.
Announcing the one-year deal at a media meet here, Managing Director of Puma Sports India Rajiv Mehta said, ''The Bengal Tiger embodies the perfect combination of grit, skills, endurance and style, which is truly synonymous with the brand image of our company.
''He kept going even in his hard days and now has succesfully made his place in the World Cup,'' he said.
As per the deal, Ganguly would wear the company's cricket footwear and apparel during all appearances at forthcoming matches.
Asked whether there were more deals in the offing, Ganguly said, ''we will have to wait and see. My existing endorsements are on.
There is not much scope for other brands.'' Ganguly, who had been losing endorsements when he was out of the team, said ''Frankly speaking, if runs keep coming, the rest will follow.'' UNI
