ENG vs AUS: Australia 126 all out as Harry Brook's England win fourth ODI by 186 runs to level series

By MyKhel Staff

ENG vs AUS: England registered a thumping 186-run win in the fourth ODI to level the ongoing five-match series 2-2 at the Lord's in London on Friday, September 27.

In the rain-marred match 39-over per-side match, England scored 312/5 after being asked to bat first before bundling out Australia for 126 runs only.

Pacer Matthew Potts picked four wickets, and got solid support from Jofra Archer and Brydon Carse, who picked two and three wickets respectively. Australia openers Mitchell Marsh (28), and Travis Head (34) were the only two players from the side to score over 15 runs as many as six players were dismissed for a single-digit score.

The hosts were well placed at 75/1 in 9.5 overs at one stage, but they were soon down to 96/6 in 15.4 overs before getting all out for 126 in 24.4 overs.

The visitors made three changes in their team for the crucial encounter. Travis Head, Josh Inglis and Adam Zampa came in for injured Cameron Green, Matthew Short, and Aaron Hardie after England won the third ODI by 46 runs (DLS method).

The changes could not help Australia take an unassailable lead in the series as England came up with another power-packed batting performance. Captain Harry Brook, who hit his maiden ODI hundred in the previous ODI, starred once again with 87 off 58, and got support from Ben Duckett (63), and Jamie Smith (39 off 28).

His partnership with Duckett accounted for 79 off 53 balls, while with Smith he forged a 75-run stand off 47 balls. Once the platform was set, Liam Livingstone (62* off 27) made sure to give England a strong finish by propelling the home side past 300.

Livingstone smashed three fours and seven sixes. He chipped in with 55 runs in the unbeaten 71-run partnership off 42 balls with Jacob Bethell for the sixth wicket.

The series-deciding fifth ODI will be played on Sunday, September 29 in Bristol.
