ENG vs AUS: Jos Buttler-England looked in disarray as they lost the first T20I against Australia by 28 runs at the Rose Bowl in Southampton. Chasing a 180-run target, England were bundled out for 151 as the visitors took an early 1-0 lead in the 3-mach series.
After being asked to bat first, Australia opener Matthew Short and Travis Head laid the foundation for their team's win. Short, who replaced Jake Fraser-McGurk in the playing eleven, scored 41 off 26 balls, while Travis Head played another whirlwind knock which consisted of eight fours and a four sixes.

In the fifth over from Sam Curran, Head scored two fours before hitting three sixes, and ended the over with another four. The southpaw scored 59 runs off 23 balls at a strike rate of 256.52. The partnership between the openers accounted for 86 runs off just 36 balls.
Captain Mitchell Marsh was clean bowled by Adil Rashid for two runs, while Marcus Stoinis (10), and Tim David (0) were trapped in front of the stumps by Liam Livingstone, as England bounced back from the early hammering.
But in-form wicketkeeper-batter Josh Inglis chipped in with crucial 37 runs off 27 balls to help Australia post 179 runs on the board in 19.3 overs. Inglis was clean bowled by Curran, Saqib Mahmood cleared the stumps of Cameron Green, and Jofra Archer also gave similar treatment to Sean Abbott and Xavier Bartlett.
England never got going in the run-chase. Captain and opener Phil Salt took the attacking route but was dismissed for 20 off 12 by Abbott, who also dismissed Sam Curran (18) later.
Will Jacks, the opening partner of Salt scored six off seven by Josh Hazlewood, who made a comeback from a calf injury. Debutant Jordan Cox was slated to bat at three, but could chip in with just 17 runs off 12 balls. Jacob Bethell, England's second debutant in the match, was clean bowled by Adam Zampa for two off six.
Once Liam Livingstone (37 off 27) was dismissed by Hazlewood on the first ball of the 14th over, an Australian win became just a matter of time.
