ENG vs NZ 3rd ODI: England will take on New Zealand in the third match of the 4-match series at the Kennington Oval in London on Wednesday, September 13. New Zealand won the first ODI by 8-wickets before hosts England bounced back with a 79-run win in a match which was reduced to 34-over per-side game.
England were reduced to 28/4 after a top-order collapse triggered by Trent Boult who picked the wickets of Jonny Bairstow (6), Joe Root (0) and Ben Stokes (1). England recovered to post 226/7. In reply, New Zealand were bundled out for 147 in 36.5 overs. Daryl Mitchell, who scored a hundred in the first ODI, top-scored for New Zealand with 57 off 52. Will Young (33) was the only other batter who crossed the 20-run mark.
Left-arm pacers Reece Topley and David Willey picked three wickets each. Moeen Ali and Gus Atkinson chipped in with 2 and 1 wicket respectively. The third ODI will present England and New Zealand to take an unassailable 2-1 lead in the series.
