ENG vs PAK: England Take Control After Bowling Pakistan Out for 133 in Edgbaston

New Delhi, September 10: Pakistan's new-look side struggled to overcome their familiar batting problems as they were bowled out for just 133 on the opening day of the third and final Test against England at Edgbaston on Wednesday.

England, who have already secured an unassailable 2-0 lead in the three-match series, made the most of Pakistan's frailties before reaching 156 for four at stumps. Emilio Gay and Harry Brook struck half-centuries to put the hosts 23 runs ahead by the close.

Josh Tongue was the pick of England's bowlers with four wickets for 42 runs, while Ollie Robinson and Jofra Archer claimed three wickets each. Robinson was particularly impressive, conceding only 15 runs in 11 overs as he reached 102 Test wickets.

Pakistan's batting collapse began early after recalled opener Saim Ayub was dismissed lbw for a duck, giving Robinson his 100th Test wicket. Archer then removed Azan Awais before Robinson accounted for Abdullah Shafique.

Captain Shan Masood fell for a poor cross-batted shot, while Tongue struck twice before lunch to dismiss Babar Azam and debutant Ghazi Ghori. He later removed another debutant, Imran Randhawa, to leave Pakistan in deep trouble.

Saud Shakeel offered some resistance, top-scoring with 43, but Tongue ended his stay with a sharp inswinger. Archer wrapped up the innings by having Mohammad Abbas caught in the slips for 21.

England's reply also suffered early setbacks, with Ben Duckett dismissed for 11 by Mohammad Ali before Jordan Cox fell for four to Abbas. However, Gay and Brook steadied the innings and ensured England finished the day firmly in control.

England had taken a 2-0 lead in the series after a commanding 194-run victory over Pakistan at Lord's.
