ENG vs WI: On Day 2 of the ongoing second Test match between England and West Indies at Trent Bridge in Nottingham, West Indies batter Kavem Hodge braved a solid pace attack to slam his first Test hundred.
The 31-year-old stitched a crucial 175-run partnership for the third wicket after West Indies were reduced to 84/3 in reply to England's first innings total of 416. The right-hander led West Indies' fightback by scoring 120 runs off 171 balls. The innings consisted of as many as 19 fours.

After hitting a memorable first hundred for West Indies, Kavem Hodge admitted that the innings was mentally draining but equally satisfying. He also opened up on his terrifying experience of facing 90 mph deliveries from England quick Mark Wood.
Hodge said that it was 'brutal' to face Wood who was consistently bowling 90mph-plus deliveries. The West Indies star also revealed joking to wood and reminding the speedster that he has a family back home waiting for him.
"It was brutal. It's not every day you rock up and you face someone that's bowling more than 90mph every single ball. There was one point, I made a joke to him, I said: 'Hey, I have a wife and kids at home.' But I think that made the century a lot more satisfying. Test cricket is brutal, it's challenging, it's mentally draining. To experience that, facing guys like Mark Wood, it was tough but it was satisfying," Kavem Hodge said after the end of Day 2 play.
Courtesy the gutsy knock from Hodge, West Indies finished at 351/5 on Friday. On Saturday, they would be hoping to get a handy lead over England, but getting past the 65-run deficit would be their first target. West Indies are trailing 0-1 in the three-Test series after losing the first game of the series at Lord's by an innings and 114 runs.
