India vs England: James Coles Earns First Call-Up As Three Lions Announce Squad For T20I Series
England have named a 17-player squad for the five-match T20I series against reigning T20 World Cup champions India. The series begins on July 1 in Chester-le-Street, with Harry Brook part of the group and Jos Buttler, Phil Salt and Jofra Archer also included.
Uncapped all-rounder James Coles has earned his maiden call-up to the England squad. The lineup also features Rehan Ahmed, Sonny Baker, Jordan Cox and Saqib Mahmood, alongside Tom Banton, Jacob Bethell, Sam Curran, Liam Dawson, Will Jacks, Adil Rashid, Josh Tongue and Luke Wood.

England said Jordan Cox, Sonny Baker and Saqib Mahmood are the key changes from the squad that featured at the ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2026. Brydon Carse and Jamie Overton will miss the series because they remain unavailable through injury.
England Men's national selector Marcus North said: "James Coles is an exciting addition and has earned his place following his performances with the England Lions and in T20 competitions here and abroad during the past 12 months."
