Gus Atkinson became the fastest cricketer to get on both the Lord's Honours Boards during the ongoing second Test match against Sri Lanka. The 26-year-old pacer came out to bat at number eight, and smashed a 103-ball hundred to help England post 427 runs in the first innings.
Atkinson made his Test debut at Lord's against West Indies on July 10, and picked a five-fer in both the innings. He picked seven wickets in the first innings, and five in the second to finish with a total of 12 wickets in the match. His name got a mention on the Lord's Honour Board for taking five wickets in an innings or ten wickets in a match.

On Day 2 of the second Test against Sri Lanka, Atkinson completed his first-ever hundred in professional cricket. Gus Atkinson completed the hundred with a boundary through long off, and broke Ian Botham's record for fastest mention on both the Lord's Honours Board.
Botham also took two matches but just six innings to achieve the feat, but Atkinson did it in four innings only. Overall, Gus Atkinson had 26 wickets in four Test matches ahead of the ongoing match against Sri Lanka.
Botham and Atkinson are the only two players with a Test hundred and a 10-fer at Lord's in the same season. Overall, six players including Stuart Broad, and Chris Woakes have the elusive record to their name.
Gus Atkinson also became the sixth player after Gubby Allen (ENG), Ray Illingworth (ENG), Bernard Julien (WI), Ajit Agarkar (IND) and Broad to score a Test hundred at Lord's from number eight or below.
He also holds the record for third-most highest sixes in a Test innings at Lord's. Atkinson smashed four sixes, and is only behind Andrew Flintoff (5), and Ben Stokes (9), now.
