England needs to perform better in one-dayers: Broad

London, June 23 : England all-rounder Stuart Broad has said that the national team needs to be more consistent in one-day cricket and not crack under pressure.

Reacting to England's recent 22-run ODI loss to New Zealand at Bristol, Broad said: "Cricket is a pressure game and we didn't cope. We lost wickets at crucial times. We weren't losing just one wicket, but two or more at a time. We're international cricketers and should not need telling how to build a run chase. It means playing your natural game."

All-rounder Broad has become the one England player whose talent and mental strength rarely wavers at the highest level of international cricket.

Broad finished with figures of 10-4-14-2 and was chiefly responsible for New Zealand's demise to 110-7. They were, however, able to recover to 182 all out in 50 overs.

"If you see a ball in your area, play fearless cricket and hit it. But we didn't get a good enough start and then faltered in the middle," The Sun quoted Broad, as saying.
