England will be desperate to stop the slump and register a win against Australia in the 3rd ODI at the Riverside Cricket Stadium in Chester-le-Street on Tuesday (September 24). But the hosts may be met with disappointment due to the weather conditions.
After losing the first two matches in the five-match ODI series, Harry Brook-led England will need a win to keep the series alive. The home side lost the opener in Nottingham by seven wickets and followed that with a 68-run loss in Leeds last week.

Despite torrential rains across the United Kingdom over the last week, the games at the Trent Bridge on September 19 and Headingley on September 21, took place without any interruption as showers stayed away.
However, the same can't be said for the clash today in Chester-le-street. While Durham Cricket expect the match to go on, the weather forecast by several aggregators state otherwise.
There is prediction for rain for most parts of the day, starting with light showers from 3 PM Local Time and turning into heavy downpour from 6 PM to 8 PM Local Time. The match starts at 12:30 PM Local Time. So, the first innings should take place without any interruption.
But, the second innings may see a few interruptions. However, with 20 overs needed to constitute a result, there is a chance we could see a winner being crowned depending on the weather in the second innings playing time.
As per the MEF Office UK, the weather is expected to be overcast changing to light showers in the afternoon and heavy rain in the evening. The day started cloudy and the city experience heavy down pour on the previous night.
Rain Prediction in Chester-le-Street on September 24: There is 60 percent chance of rain from 3 PM Local Time (7:30 PM IST) and later increasing to 70 and 80 percent from 5 PM Local Time (9:30 PM IST).
