England vs Australia: Every Women's T20 World Cup meeting before the 2026 final
The oldest rivalry in cricket will once again take centre stage as England and Australia meet in the 2026 Women's T20 World Cup final at Lord's on Saturday.
While England have the advantage of playing at home and boast an impressive record in ICC World Cups hosted on English soil, Australia have repeatedly had the upper hand when the two sides have met at the Women's T20 World Cup-particularly in finals.

The two teams have faced each other seven times in Women's T20 World Cup history, including three finals, with Australia holding the overall advantage.
2009: England knock out Australia before lifting title
England and Australia first met in the tournament during the 2009 semi-final at Lord's.
Australia posted 163 after useful contributions from Shelley Nitschke, Karen Rolton and Lisa Sthalekar. In response, England recovered from an early setback as Claire Taylor and Beth Morgan stitched together an unbeaten 122-run partnership to seal victory with three balls to spare.
England went on to defeat New Zealand in the final to win the inaugural Women's T20 World Cup.
2010: Australia's Super Over triumph
The following year produced one of the most dramatic matches in Women's T20 World Cup history.
England managed just 104 batting first, with Sarah Taylor top-scoring with 46. Australia stumbled to 63/7 before fighting back to force a Super Over.
Even the Super Over ended level, with both teams scoring six runs. Australia were eventually declared winners on the boundary-count rule after hitting one six compared to England's none.
2012: One win each, Australia take the trophy
The rivals met twice in the 2012 edition.
England won their group-stage clash after Sarah Taylor's fluent 65 and an unbeaten 33 from Dannielle Wyatt-Hodge guided them past Australia's 144.
However, Australia had the final say when the teams met again in the championship match.
Jess Duffin's 45 helped Australia recover to post 142/4, before disciplined bowling restricted England despite a promising start from captain Charlotte Edwards. Australia edged the contest by four runs to lift the title.
Australia have dominated recent meetings
Australia have continued to enjoy the better of this rivalry in recent editions, establishing themselves as the dominant force in women's T20 cricket.
That includes victories over England in multiple knockout matches and three Women's T20 World Cup finals, making them England's biggest obstacle on the biggest stage.
Can England end the final hoodoo?
England enter the 2026 final unbeaten and will have home support at Lord's, where they won the inaugural title in 2009.
Australia are also unbeaten in the tournament and are chasing yet another global crown, making Saturday's contest a battle between the two most consistent teams in the competition.
With history favouring Australia but home conditions on England's side, the latest chapter of cricket's oldest rivalry promises another memorable Women's T20 World Cup final.
