After sharing the spoils in the shortest format series to begin the tour, Ashes rivals England and Australia are set to lock horns in more white ball matches when they clash in a five-match ODI series.
The series opener will be staged at Trent Bridge in Nottingham on Thursday (September 19) followed by the second ODI on Saturday (September 21) at Headingley in Leeds, and the third ODI at Chester-le-Street on Tuesday (September 24).

The 50-over action then shifts to the Home of Cricket – Lord's in London for the fourth ODI on September 27 before the series concludes with the fifth and final ODI at the Bristol County Cricket Ground on September 29.
England will be led by Harry Brook as regular white ball skipper Jos Buttler continues to remain sidelined with a calf issue. The hosts have named many new faces to their ODI squad with in-form Liam Livingstone also being added after missing out on making the group earlier.
Australia, on the other hand, will also be led by a different captain as Pat Cummins gets an extended break. T20I captain Mitchell Marsh leads the team in Cummins’ absence, while some seniors make a return to the squad, having missed the T20I series.
Mitchell Marsh, Steve Smith, Glenn Maxwell and Marnus Labuschagne join the squad, while Under-19 World Cup winner Mahli Beardman has been added as cover in the pace department. Here is all you need to know about the ENG vs SL 2024 series:
