England batter Ollie Pope has brought to light a close connection between him and Arsenal.
Ollie Pope, who scored a century in England's 2nd Test against West Indies, revealed that he is an Arsenal supporter and spoke about an Arsenal player who brings runs from his bat whenever he attends a cricket match.

Pope played a superb knock of 121 runs with the bat in just 167 balls. He hit 15 fours and a six in his 6th Test century. The 26-year-old helped his team to post a big total as the hosts accumulated 416 runs in the first innings on Day 1 of the 2nd Test in Nottingham.
And at the press conference after the day's play, Pope was asked about a special guest who attended the match. The English wicketkeeper-batter said that Arsenal's goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale was in the stands and revealed his run-scoring spree with Ramsdale in attendance.
"I'm obviously a big Arsenal fan. So I go support him (Aaron Ramsdale) a fair bit. He seems to be a lucky charm on the cricket pitch as well. So he just messaged me last night. I managed to sort him a couple of tickets. I think he loves his cricket and I love watching Arsenal play, so it's great for him to be here," Pope said to the reporters on Thursday.
Pope then went on to reveal how Ramsdale at the stands always provides runs for him. The English cricketer scored a double century as well while Ramsdale watching him.
"Well, he's come to two other games and one of them I scored 200. It always happens to be the day that he's there that I get the runs. I think he can come more often," Pope concluded.
Ramsdale was part of the England football squad which fnished as runners-up in the Euro 2024. The Englishman joined Arsenal in 2021 and has been an important player for the Gunners, but may leave the North London club this summer.
