Melbourne, Jan 28: All-rounder Shane Watson on Thursday (January 28) said there is a "big and healthy rivalry" between Virat Kohli and Steve Smith but played down the send-off incident during the 1st Twenty20 International between Australia and India.

During the 1st T20 at the Adelaide Oval on Tuesday (January 26), an angry Kohli gave a send-off to Smith after taking a catch to dismiss the batsman.
The Indian vice-captain was not happy that Smith was mic'd up with the host broadcaster "Channel 9" and commentating as he batted. (Smith reacts to send-off from Kohli)
Kohli gestured with his right hand indicating that Smith was talkative. Later, Smith reacted in the media to that and said it was not necessary from Kohli.
Now, when Watson was asked about the incident, he said Kohli was a "very excitable dude" who wanted to get involved in a contest.
"Virat is a very excitable dude anyway so he gets involved in a contest. And obviously him and Steve have got a big and healthy rivalry as well for the most incredible batsman in the world at the moment," Watson said on Thursday ahead of tomorrow's 2nd T20I.
"I will be very surprised if that affected the way Steve bats and he knows when to switch on. Virat plays with his heart on his sleeve and I certainly know that from experience. He sometimes gets into trouble because of it, but that's the thing that drives him as well," Watson added.
India, who hold a 1-0 lead in the 3-match T20I series, end the tour of Australia on Sunday (January 31) in Sydney with the 3rd and final T20I.
