Exhibition on cricket in Baroda Palace Museum

Vadodara, Mar 9 (UNI) With the World Cup cricket fever gripping the lovers of the game across the country, the Maharaja Fatesinh Museum Trust and Baroda Cricket Association (BCA) have decided to jointly organise an exhibition on cricket here from March 11.

The exposition ''Baroda Still Batting 1898-2007'' is the two month-long exhibit put up at Marahaja Fatesinh Museum in the Lakshmi Vilas Palace complex. It would be inaugurated by legendary cricketer and former India captain Dattajirao Gaekwad.

According to the museum trustee Maharani Subhagini Raje, more than 100 rare photographs of legendary players, over 600 books on cricket, personal artefacts and memoirs collected from various sources would be put on display.

Mrs Raje said the unique exhibition was also a live, pulsating documentation of the passionate love that four generations of the Baroda royals had for the game of cricket.

''It is the first time that these historical treasures have been sourced and collated for public viewing with a view to apprise people about the 100-year-old history of Baroda cricket and its contribution to the game as a whole,'' she added.
