Karachi, Jan 12(ANI): A former Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) official has asked the top hierarchy of the board to understand the seriousness of the threats of outside interference and advised it to immediately revive its link with the Security Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP).
Arif Ali Khan Abbasi, who served as secretary of the former BCCP and later as the first CEO of the PCB, said that the current officials of the PCB were not understanding the gravity of threats from illegal interference into cricket affairs by heads of sports committees.
He said the PCB should immediately apply for re-registration of the cricket body with the SECP and advised the general body to become powerful enough to block illegal interference from outside forces.
"It is really shocking that the members of the general body were just watching the destruction of a sport for which they had struggled to nurture for six decades," The Nation quoted Abbasi, as saying.
"Any member of the general body could just approach the court of law to correct the wrong done by ad-hoc system and everything would fall in place," he added.
Abbasi also said that the board should announce restoration of the constitution, which was in place before the ad-hoc system came 15 years ago. (ANI)
