'Experienced' Cook ready to drive out Ashes demons

London, May 30(ANI): England batsman Alastair Cook has turned up the heat on Australia by insisting that he is ready to drive out his Ashes demons.

"When I last went to Australia, I probably went with just nine or 10 Test matches behind me so I'm far more experienced now. I know what's going to happen in terms of the tour. I'm a better player now because I've gone through a change of technique which I think has helped me," The Daily Express quoted Cook, as saying.

"The pressure is always on when you're playing for England. There are lots of players trying to get you out of the side. We know if we're to go and win in Australia then every one of us will have to stand up and put in a performance."

"We have to beat Bangladesh, beat Pakistan and make sure we keep up that momentum and that's the challenge, then we can look at the Ashes," he added.

The 25-year-old further said that having regained the Ashes last summer and beaten the Australians to lift the Twenty20 World Cup trophy, England will go ahead for the to series with a justified sense of optimism.

"Everyone will need to be firing if we're to win in Australia, but this side wins and loses together it's what England do that matters," Cook said. (ANI)
