West Indies cricketer Fabian Allen was robbed at gunpoint in South Africa's Johannesburg on Monday (February 5).
Allen, who is currently in South Africa for the SA20, was mugged just outside his hotel in the capital city of the country. He is representing Paarl Royals in the second edition of the SA20 tournament.

While stationed in South Africa for the cricket league, the 28-year-old cricketer from Jamaica found himself in a perilous situation. The incident occurred just outside his team's accommodation, in the vicinity of the well-known Sandton Sun Hotel. Allen, unsuspecting and unarmed, was confronted by armed robbers.
The perpetrators, brandishing a gun, snatched Allen's possessions. Allen's mobile was stolen, and along with that, a bag is also said to be taken by the robbers. The armed robbery involving Fabian Allen has prompted a wave of concern and sympathy from the cricketing fraternity worldwide.
Allen is said to be physically unharmed. The West Indies player is currently at the team hotel and is surrounded by his teammates and other staff. A CWI member stated that Allen is fine and the contact was made with him through another West Indies player Obed McCoy.
Allen's Paarl Royals will be playing in the Eliminator of the SA20 on Wednesday (February 7). The 28-year-old has played 8 matches for them so far and has scored 38 runs and has picked up 2 wickets.
