Tejashwi Yadav, a renowned politician and son of former Bihar Chief Minister Lalu Prasad Yadav, made an outrageous claim recently.
During an interview with Zee Media, the RJD leader expressed his disappointment for the lack of recognition of his cricketing career. He played domestic cricket for Jharkhand, featuring in 1 First Class match, 2 List A matches and 4 T20 matches in the domestic circuit.

The player made his domestic debut against Vidarbha in 2009 and then played the four T20 matches against the East Zone opponents. He was also part of the Delhi Daredevils in the IPL but never played for them.
During the interview, Tejaswhi claimed that he captained India stalwart Virat Kohli. The politician also confirmed that many of the current Indian cricketers are his batchmates.
"I was a cricketer and no one talks about it. Virat Kohli has played under my captaincy and has anyone ever spoken about it? As a professional, I was a cricketer. I played good cricket. I have many batchmates in team India. I had to quit cricket because my ligaments tore," Tejashwi Yadav said.
As per the cricket records, Virat Kohli never played under the leadership of Tejashwi Yadav. Tejashwi played for Jharkhand in domestic cricket whereas Virat Kohli represented Delhi in domestic tournaments. Although Kohli played age-level cricket for India, Tejashwi never represented the nation at any level.
Although MyKhel didn't check if Virat played under Tejashwi in any unofficial match, but in terms of competitive cricket, the claim didn't happen in reality.
