Pakistan batter Fakhar Zaman will be missing the high-voltage Champions Trophy 2025 clash against India after injury.
The star batter got injured during fielding in the Champions Trophy opener against New Zealand on Wednesday (Feb 19).

Following that, Zaman didn't field and came out to bat at an unfamiliar no. 4 position, where he looked in visible pain. Zaman scored only 24 runs in 41 deliveries before his dismissal.
The Pakistan player has suffered a chest muscle injury and as per reports, he is now ruled out and won't be available for the massive encounter against India on Sunday (February 23).
There hasn't been any official communication from PCB, but multiple reports in Pakistan have confirmed that the southpaw will not play any part in the Champions Trophy.
Fakhar was included in the Pakistan squad for his recent upbeat form. The destructive batter was excellent for them in the Champions Trophy 2017 and scored a century against India in the final, which eventually Pakistan won beating the arch-rivals.
Already the Pakistanis are missing another opener Saim Ayub and now Fakhar's potential departure has further complicated their issues. Pakistan opened with Babar Azam and Saud Shakeel, and the latter didn't look at ease in the new position. After losing to New Zealand by 60 runs in the opener, Pakistan will play against India in a must-win encounter.
The team is likely to fly for Dubai today (February 20) and it is to be seen if PCB name any replacement for the injured player.
