Fans react as Ruturaj Gaikwad marries Maharashtra cricketer Utkarsha Pawar

Ruturaj Gaikwad married his long-term girlfriend Utkarsha Pawar on Saturday. The pictures from the wedding have gone viral on social media. In one picture Gaikwad can be seen posing with his Chennai Super Kings (CSK) teammate Shivam Dube.

The 26-year-old opener played a pivotal role as CSK defeated defending champions Gujarat Titans (GT) in the IPL 2023 final on May 29 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. He finished the tournament with 590 runs - the second-highest by any batter from CSK.

Gaikwad and Utkarsha were seen posing with the glittery trophy after CSK won their record-extending 5th IPL title. Gaikwad also posted a picture of him sitting with Utkarsha and MS Dhoni in the CSK dressing room after the match.

Utkarsha Pawar is also a cricketer who plays for Maharashtra. As per ESPNcricinfo, the 24-year-old is a right-arm pacer. In her last outing against Punjab Women on November 15, the right-hand batter scored four runs and picked one wicket for 13 runs. In the match prior to it, she picked two wickets for 20 runs against Kerala.

Fans are thrilled to see a cricketer marrying a cricketer in India. Elite Indian men's team players have married Bollywood actresses in the past, however, Gaikwad opted to choose a life partner from the same profession. Utkarsha Pawar was trending on Twitter.

India cricketer and Gaikwad's Maharashtra teammate Kedar Jadhav also married a cricketer in 2011. Jadhav's wife Snehal Jadhav plays for Maharashtra in the domestic circuit. Snehal is a right-handed wicketkeeper-batter.
