Farooq admits internal bickering within J
Srinagar, June 29 (UNI) Former Chief Minister Farooq Abdullah has said the internal bickering and politics in the Jammu and Kashmir Cricket Association (JKCA) was the prime cause for the improper functioning of the body.
Talking to reporters after inaugurating a cricket tournament here, he said this was also the reason that the association had not been doing much of the activities, which it is capable of.
Dr Abdullah, who is also the JKCA president, said the association would soon construct a new cricket stadium and two academies -- one each in Srinagar and Jammu -- for which the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has already granted Rs 25 crore.
''In this regard, I have already met Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad who assured me of full cooperation,'' he added.
