"Feels Good to Be Back": Radha Yadav Opens Up on India T20I Return After 11 Months
Radha Yadav has returned to India’s T20I squad after almost 11 months and is looking to help the Women in Blue in their chase for a maiden ICC Women’s T20 World Cup title in England and Wales. She spoke on JioStar about her comeback, the WPL, and senior leaders Harmanpreet Kaur and Smriti Mandhana.
Yadav said the break gave her time to work on her game. “I am rejoining the T20I team after almost a gap of 11 months. It feels good to be back,” she said, quoted JioStar. She added that the WPL helped her improve batting power, death-over scoring, pace changes, and bowling variations.

She said the India team staff supported her during the process. According to Yadav, the coaches were open with her and allowed her freedom to set things in her own way. She said that backing has made a “huge difference” as she returns to international cricket.
Radha Yadav's Learning Curve Of Leg Spin
Yadav also spoke about the ongoing learning process for a spinner. She said she learns from teammates, coaches, and opponents, and believes learning never stops while playing the game. She added that watching how others bowl, set fields, and handle pressure can help improve her own approach.
She said spin bowling is about wickets, control, and sticking to strengths. “We have to stick to our strengths, use our variations, and keep hitting the right areas,” she said. Yadav noted that conversations in the team often focus on taking wickets and keeping the run rate down.
WPL Impac & Help From Senior Players
Yadav said the TATA WPL has helped reduce the gap between domestic and international cricket. She said players now get exposure to higher-level competition before entering the India set-up, while earlier they moved straight from domestic cricket to internationals without a middle stage.
She also praised Harmanpreet Kaur and Smriti Mandhana, saying their input has been important over the years. Yadav said they guide the team in tough moments, help younger players settle in, and make sure every new player feels they belong and can express their skills.
