'Dada' First Look: Rajkummar Rao Brings Sourav Ganguly's Legendary Lord's Celebration to Life

The first look poster of Dada - The Sourav Ganguly Story, featuring Rajkummar Rao, was unveiled today on Sourav Ganguly's birthday. The makers also announced a theatrical release on 14th May 2027, with the film set to arrive over an extended holiday weekend.

The poster shows Rajkummar Rao in a recreation of Ganguly's jersey-waving moment on the Lord's balcony after India's NatWest Trophy win over England in 2002. The image is widely seen as a key symbol of Ganguly's captaincy, and of a bold new phase in Indian cricket.

Film on Ganguly's cricket journey

Dada - The Sourav Ganguly Story follows Ganguly's rise from a young cricketer to one of India's most influential captains. The film highlights his grit, resilience and conviction, and the role he played in changing the game and shaping a generation of fans.

Dada- The Sourav Ganguly Story is directed by Vikramaditya Motwane, produced by Luv Ranjan and Ankur Garg, and presented by Gulshan Kumar, Bhushan Kumar, Tseries and DBL. It is a Luv Films production and will release worldwide in cinemas on 14th May 2027.
