Forget ODI victory, Test new ball game: Kumble

New Delhi, Nov 21 (UNI) India captain Anil Kumble today said his team cannot breath it easy after the ODI victory and lower their guards against Pakistan in the three-match Test series starting here tomorrow.

Kumble, who was addressing his first press conference as captain, said his boys would have to play to their potential to come out winners in the Test series.

''We have to respect our opponents. They are a talented side.

Test match is an altogether ball game than a limited over game,'' said the 37-year-old leg spinner who succeeded Rahul Dravid at the helm of affairs.

He admitted that spinner Danish Kaneria's inclusion has made Pakistan a tougher side but said his side has experienced players to take on him.

On run machine Mohammad Yousuf, Kumble said, ''He (Yousuf) is in his best form. But, our bowlers have a plan to contain him.'' Kumble took in his stride the jolt received by the team with the non-availability of pacers R P Singh and S Sreesanth, saying, ''It was unfortunate but not something which will affect the performance of the team.'' ''It is part and parcel of the game. It's good that Munaf is back, he has done well for India in the past,'' he added.

The Indian captain refused to speak on team compostion though dropping enough hints that India would go for two spinners and wicket-keeper M S Dhoni would play tomorrow.

''We will have a team meeting and name the playing 12 tomorrow morning after having a look at the pitch once again.

''Probably me and Harbhajan Singh would be the main spinners though it is not finally decided. Dhoni is also OK (with his injury),'' Dhoni twisted his ankle at Jaipur during the final ODI against Pakistan but he had practice session yesterday and this morning without any apparent trouble.

On Yuvraj's likely warming the bench tomorrow, Kumble said the dashing southpaw's time would come and should not lose heart.

''It must be tough time for him (Yuvraj). He is a quality player and has scored lots of runs (in one-dayers).Considering the circumstances, he has to wait for some more time before getting into the regular Test side,'' Kumble said.

When asked about the likely pressure of captaining the Indian team, he said on the field there would not be much difference.

''I have been in the Indian team for the last 18 years, so it will be normal game on the field. But sure, off the field there will be lots of change like facing the media,'' he said tongue in cheek.
