Former BCCI secretary Nair resigns as KCA President
Thiruvananthapuram, May 26 (UNI) Former BCCI secretary S K Nair, who failed to get elected to the Kerala Cricket Association (KCA), today resigned from the Presidentship of the KCA.
Mr Nair suffered a setback as he was pushed to the third position in the elections held for the 60-member state body.
Announcing the resignation, he said the defeat was unexpected and he doubted that some vested interests were behind his defeat.
''I had tried to bring in transparency into the Association's day to day affairs,'' he said.
In the elections, Mr Nair could get only 25 votes as against the 38 and 33 votes polled by Dr Anil Kumar and Rajith Rajendran, who were elected as the two members of the KCA from the district.
Mr Nair handed over charge to KCA Vice-President Haridas.
