Former Chennai Super Kings star Ambati Rayudu has once again stirred political speculation with his recent comments at an Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) event in Visakhapatnam. Rayudu was recently a guest at the event.

There, he hailed the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) as the "only party that works for the country." His remarks have ignited discussions about his possible entry into the party. Rayudu's political journey has been marked by shifting allegiances.

In 2019, he briefly joined the Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP) but resigned before the elections, citing his commitment to professional cricket. At the time, he announced that he would focus on playing in international T20 leagues.

However, just days after quitting YSRCP, he met Jana Sena Party chief Pawan Kalyan, leading to speculation that he was eyeing a political future with the party. Rayudu even stated that his ideology aligned with Kalyan's, but no official role materialized.

During the 2024 Andhra Pradesh elections, Jana Sena declared Rayudu as one of its star campaigners. His political statements then strongly supported Pawan Kalyan's leadership. However, after the elections, he remained politically inactive-until now. With Kalyan recently becoming Deputy Chief Minister, Rayudu's latest comments have sparked fresh speculation about his next move.

Will Rayudu Join BJP?

Rayudu's recent praise for BJP at the ABVP event has added fuel to the rumors. His statement comparing BJP with other parties, claiming that some revolve around families while others cater to corporate interests, was seen as a strong endorsement of the party's ideology.

His words have led to speculation that he might be preparing to formally enter BJP's fold. Despite his earlier claim of staying away from politics for a while, Rayudu appears to be re-entering the political arena. Many believe that his shift towards BJP is a strategic move.

Especially since several former cricketers have successfully transitioned into politics through the party. As Andhra Pradesh's political landscape continues to evolve, Rayudu's potential switch to BJP remains a hot topic. Whether he formally joins or not, his statements have certainly placed him back in the political spotlight.
