Former India U19 captain Unmukt Chand stars as Knight Riders finally win a Match in MLC 2025
The Los Angeles Knight Riders chased down Seattle Orcas' 177/6 with ease, finishing on 178/4 in 18.2 overs, a six-wicket win that snapped their three-match losing streak in MLC 2025, thus registering their first win of the season.
The Seattle Orcas opted to bat first, posting a competitive total of 177. Opener David Warner contributed 38 off 28 balls, while Aaron Jones added 44 from 36 deliveries. Andre Russell returned impressive figures of 3/30 for LAKR.

But in the run chase, it was former India U19 captain Unmukt Chand, who played a sublime knock, thus guiding the Knight Riders to a victory.
Unmukt Chand delivered a commanding performance with an unbeaten 86 off 58 balls. LAKR were struggling at 7 for 2, but Chand showcased composure and class, forging a decisive 139-run partnership with Saif Badar. His knock combined sound shot selection with clean hitting, ensuring the chase was completed with 10 balls to spare.
Chand remained constant as wickets fell around him, anchoring the innings and accelerating at key phases. His effort was rightly acknowledged with the Player of the Match award, as the 32-year-old will now be hoping to play a greater part for LAKR in the remainder of the tournament.
For Seattle, the loss marks a fourth consecutive defeat, leaving them at the bottom of the table and still searching for their first points. Their batting has been steady, but an inability to defend competitive scores has become a recurring issue. This latest setback raises further concerns about the depth and balance of their bowling attack.
