Former Pakistan Pacer Mohammad Amir Hit For 96-Meter Six In CPL 2023 Opener - Watch

Former Pakistan pacer Mohammad Amir was hit for a 96 meter six by Roshon Primus in the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) 2023 opener at the Darren Sammy National Cricket Stadium in Gros Islet, St Lucia on Wednesday (August 16) night.

Along with the mammoth hit, Amir conceded 47 runs from his quota of 4 overs, but his team Jamaica Tallawahs secured a 11 run win over Primus' Saint Lucia Kings in match 1 of the 2023 CPL.

After Brandon King's 81 off 53 balls powered Tallawahs to 187 in 20 overs, Roston Chase (53 off 31 balls) and Primus (37 off 20 balls) cameos went in vain for St Lucia Kings, who finished their chase at 176 for 8.

Walking in at number 6, Primus shared a 61-run stand off 29 balls with Chase to keep the hosts' hopes alive in the run chase after looking in a spot of bother at 104/5 in 14 overs. Primus' knock included 2 sixes and 3 fours.

First of Primus' maximums came in the 17th over when he pulled Amir in the first delivery towards the cow corner, becoming the biggest hit of the night, travelling a distance of 96 meters. Watch the video of the monster hit, shared by CPL X handle.

The second six of Primus also came against Amir in the second deilvery of the 19th over when he once again pulled the ex Pakistan pacer over deep mid-wicket for a maximum. Three deliveries later, however, Amir got his revenge as he ran Primus out, resulting in St Lucia falling short of the target.

While Amir was expensive with the ball, his compatriot Imad Wasim was the pick of the bowlers for Tallawahs with figures of 3 for 27 in 4 overs. Chris Green and Salman Irshad claimed two wickets each.

Amir's Tallawahs will next be in action on Sunday (August 20) when they face Barbados Royals in the second match of the double header at the same venue, where St Lucia Kings also will be in action on Thursday (August 17) when they face the Royals.
