From Rohit Sharma To Virat Kohli- Most Sixes In T20 World Cup History

The ICC Men's T20 World Cup has always been a celebration of power-hitting, where one clean strike can shift momentum in a matter of seconds.

As the tournament gets ready for its landmark tenth edition, to be jointly hosted by India and Sri Lanka, the spotlight once again turns to the batters who have redefined six-hitting on the biggest stage of T20 cricket. Across nine editions so far, several legendary names have left an indelible mark with their ability to clear the ropes under pressure.

Topping the list is West Indies great Chris Gayle, whose dominance in the tournament remains unmatched. Featuring in editions from 2007 to 2021,Chri Gayle smashed 63 sixes in 33 matches, a record that underlines his reputation as one of the most destructive batters in T20 history. His two centuries in the competition further highlight his match-winning prowess.

India's Rohit Sharma sits second on the list, showcasing remarkable consistency over a long period. Having represented India from 2007 to 2024, Rohit accumulated 50 sixes across 47 matches. Known for his effortless timing and ability to accelerate once set, Rohit has been a cornerstone of India's T20 World Cup batting success, combining power with reliability at the top of the order.

England's Jos Buttler occupies the third spot, reflecting his impact as one of modern cricket's most feared white-ball batters. Buttler struck 43 sixes in 35 matches between 2012 and 2024, operating at an impressive strike rate. His aggressive approach has often given England quick starts and decisive breakthroughs in key matches.

Australia's David Warner follows closely with 40 sixes from 41 matches. Despite being more associated with consistency than brute force, Warner's ability to clear the boundary regularly has made him one of the most effective openers in T20 World Cup history. Virat Kohli, another Indian stalwart, features prominently on the list with 35 sixes. While Kohli is best known for his classical strokeplay and run accumulation, his six-hitting numbers underline how effectively he has adapted his game to the T20 format.

The list also includes iconic names such as Yuvraj Singh, Shane Watson, Glenn Maxwell, AB de Villiers, and Afghanistan's Rahmanullah Gurbaz. Yuvraj's 33 sixes remain symbolic of his fearless batting, while Maxwell and de Villiers brought innovation and flair to the tournament.
